MQ Blue Protein Marker

Description

The MOLEQULE-ON Blue Protein Marker is a three-colour standard with 12 pre-stained proteins, covering a wide range of molecular weights from 10 to 245 kDa. Proteins are covalently coupled with a blue chromophore except for two reference bands, when separated on SDS-PAGE (Tris-glycine buffer). The Blue Marker is dissolved in the buffer (20 mM Tris-phosphate, pH 7.5 at 25°C), 2% SDS, 0.2 mM Dithiothreitol, 3.6 M Urea, and 15% (v/v) Glycerol).

Features

1. Broad range: 10-245 kDa
2. Ready-to-use: Supplied in a loading buffer for direct loading on gels
3. Easy to identify: Features reference bands at ~25 and ~90 kDa, coupled with green and red chromophores, respectively
4. Sharp band

Applications

1. Monitoring of protein migration during SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.
2. Monitoring of protein transfer onto membranes during Western blotting.
3. Sizing of proteins on SDS-polyacrylamide gels and Western blots.

Agarose

Principles and Uses

Agarose E is an agarose ideal for routine rapid separation of DNA and RNA fragments, as well as PCR products, plasmid preparation, and for screening, cloning, and blotting techniques. Some important features are:
1. Easy dissolution and rapid gelling.
2. Excellent transparency and low background staining for clear band visibility.
3. Sharp and well-defined bands.
4. Very low DNA binding.
Agarose E has high gel strength even at low concentrations, so use rates are 0.75-2%. It is effective in blotting and in separating nucleic acid fractions from 250 bp to 23 Kb.

6X DNA Loading Dye

Description

The MOLEQULE-ON DNA Loading Dye is a pre-mixed loading buffer with two tracking dyes for agarose and non-denaturing polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Bromophenol blue is the standard tracking dye for electrophoresis, migrating at approximately 300 base pairs on a 1% TBE agarose gel. Xylene cyanol typically migrates at about the same rate as a 4000 base pairs DNA fragment. EDTA is also included to chelate magnesium (Mg²⁺) in enzymatic reactions, thereby stopping the reaction. The DNA loading buffer with tracking dyes is supplied in a 6X concentrated form.

VisualaNA (A) Nucleic Acid Stain

Description

VisualaNA A is a safe nucleic acid stain for the detection of double-stranded DNA, single-stranded DNA, and RNA in agarose gels.
This dye replaces Ethidium Bromide (a toxic and potential mutagen) for visualization of DNA and RNA in agarose gel. VisualaNA A DNA stain emits green fluorescence when bound to DNA or RNA. It has two secondary fluorescence excitation peaks (~270 nm; ~290 nm) and one strong excitation peak centered around 490 nm. The fluorescence emission is centered at ~530 nm. Thus, VisualaNA A DNA stain is compatible with a wide variety of gel reading instruments. VisualaNA A can be used for precast agarose gels, and for better sensitivity, post-staining is recommended. VisualaNA A is non-carcinogenic and, according to the Ames test, causes significantly fewer mutations than Ethidium Bromide.

Features

1. Non carcinogenic
2. Non hazardous to the environment
3. VisualaNA A is as sensitive as ethidium bromide

VisualaNA Compatibility

VisualaNA A has been tested for use with the following applications: In gel staining, transformation, post-staining, ligation, gel extraction and transfection. Prior to setting, VisualaNA A/Agarose solution can be retained at 65°C for same day use.
VisualaNA A is non-carcinogenic but may cause skin and eye irritations. Always wear gloves when working with the product.
