Description

MQ Blood Genomic DNA Extraction Kit with Spin Columns provides a fast, simple, and efficient method for the purification of genomic DNA from blood cells. Principle

MQ Blood DNA Isolation Kit utilizes a silica-gel membrane that selectively absorbs up to 10 μg of DNA fragments in the presence of specialized binding buffers. Description

MQ Tissue Genomic DNA Isolation Kit is designed for rapid purification of genomic DNA (as well as other forms of DNA, e.g., mitochondrial DNA) from fresh, frozen, or paraffin-embedded animal tissues and cells.
Samples are first lysed using proteinase K in an optimized buffer. The lysate is loaded onto the MQ spin column, where DNA is selectively bound to the EX membrane embedded in the column. During wash steps, protein and other impurities are removed, and DNA is then eluted in a low-salt buffer. Purified DNA typically has A₂₆₀/A₂₈₀ ratios of 1.7-1.9 and is highly suited for most downstream applications such as PCR, Southern blotting, RAPD, and RFLP.
The purification procedure requires no phenol/chloroform extraction or alcohol precipitation and involves minimal handling. The entire procedure takes only 20 minutes after sample preparation. Yields of DNA vary between samples depending on the amount and type of tissue; for most tissues, 5-10 μg of DNA can be obtained from 25 mg of materials.
